I am reaching out to all of youvout of frustration.

My teen asked if he could go to hangout with his friend so l said no because those friends are always up to no good! We argued about it and then he left the house. He is almost 17. I have been through so much with him from hospital to behavioral hospitals. Anyway, l told him if he put a foot outside that door he was not going to go to a trip he’s got coming up with the church. But he still walkes out. Out of anger l told him not to come back! I am a mess right now...🥺

You only want the best for your kids
It hurts to see them make choices you wouldn't
The reality is at 17 you no longer can Dictate thier choices

All I can offer is my parenting experience

You sad if he goes out then no church trip
Then Stick to that

Consequences for choices is the most important thing you can teach older teens
How much importance the church trip had that is something I cannot say

At the end of the day
They are nearing adulthood.

That means they have to make their own choices and the results

very true @PapaBill  - every you do @HeartBreak2  you do out of the care and love you have for your son.

I'm wondering how things have been since you posted last week? Did you son come back home? Were you able to talk about it?

Thinking of you in this difficult situation.
