Self defeating personality disorder

I have just learnt my 27yo daughter has been diagnosed with Self defeating personality disorder. She has made a series of poor decisions in her life since the age of 14, with each progressively getting worse and involve drugs, alcohol, abusive partners, sex work, etc. As a mother, i find it difficult to watch my beautiful child make decisions which poorly affect hers and my life. She does not follow reason. Please can someone who understands this disorder provide some advice on how to help her and potentially turn around some of these worrying decisions. I'm afraid of where it could all end up.

Hey Helplessmum, I see nobody has replied yet and maybe they have better advice but my thoughts would be to seek professional help. Surely the practitioner who diagnosed your daughter can recommend some support structures. Stay strong for yoruself and your daughter... x

I don't have any experience of the disorder so I cannot offer any abide

I echo the earlier comment that you would be best advised by a medical practitioner with knowledge of the condition
