I had "the conversation" with my son last year (in actual fact it was a number of conversations . . . its an open door).

Actually, one thing that was a little awkward but I took my son to the supermarket and showed him how to buy condoms (he was running away a lot and so I felt that he needed to know how to access them when not at home). Yes, I even brought carrots and when we got home showed him how to put the condom on.

Such an embarrassing dad . . . .
