My adult children doing too much smoking/drinking

My two adult children ages 18 and 20 smoke way too much and drink too much beer for my liking.  I don't know what to do at this point?  I have no control and this behavior is ruining my relationship with them.  I dont know what to do....I am so worried they will turn to bigger drugs and addiction next.  NO support from husband at all.

@Monkey00 welcome to the forums - we're so glad you've joined here for support.

That sounds like a really hard situation with your adult children and their use of alcohol and drugs.

I think it can be really a particularly tough thing to know how to support young people with substance issues as there are so many emotions and challenges involved.

Do your children have any professional supports they can turn to? If not, do you think they would consider it?

I'm really sorry to hear you're not feeling supported by your husband - do you have anyone else you can talk to?
