Hi, I'm looking for support for my friend who has a young son, aged 7, where he can chat/talk to someone and get support for his mental health and well being, and say things that he can't say to his Dad, because his mum & new partner have told him not to.? Thanks

Hey @Adelaide314

Thank you for reaching out for some support, your friend is lucky to have you!

Do you know if your friend has a family doctor or a local GP? Speaking to a GP could be helpful and if more support is needed, they can provide more appropriate and specific referrals to other health and mental health professionals.

Do you know if there is anything specific that your friend is concerned about?

My friend's mum has all the custody over his son's health etc, so he can't take him to a GP, but I guess he can ask his own.  My friend is concerned about the fact that his son is afraid to talk to his own dad.  It sounds like he would get in trouble with them if he does, which is really unhealthy and concerning (controlling?).

Hi @Adelaide314,

Thank you for the update, we understand that it's the child's mum that is the primary person involved in the health care decisions.

We have sent you an email, if you could please keep an eye out for that.
