Ask a young person!
Parent question: "My daughter has social anxiety and has already missed a significant amount of time from school this year. She thinks her friends don't like her anymore and feels awkward and scared to attend school or even leave the house. I have suggested we make a plan of non threatening places to go over the holidays. She says she doesn't want to go anywhere especially with me. I think her rejection is so strong as she is scared to go out. How can I help her?"
We have over 10 young people ready and willing to share their thoughts and experiences!
Our youth volunteers have shared their thoughts, what are yours?
How can you help a teen with social anxiety? have you been through something similar with your teen?
It looks like you’re visiting us from a country other than Australia.
We are an Australian service and think you’d benefit more from looking up a similar service in your country.
You are welcome to look around the forums, but please don’t make an account or post, as we can’t offer you the help you may need.
Before you go ahead and post, you should know that we remove non-Australian accounts – not because we don’t want to help or connect with you, but because we may not be able to provide you with the service that you require.
