Social Anxiety: How can I help my daughter?

Ask a young person!

Parent question: "My daughter has social anxiety and has already missed a significant amount of time from school this year. She thinks her friends don't like her anymore and feels awkward and scared to attend school or even leave the house. I have suggested we make a plan of non threatening places to go over the holidays. She says she doesn't want to go anywhere especially with me. I think her rejection is so strong as she is scared to go out. How can I help her?"
