Hey there well the situation is that I always tell my son to pick up his stuff and not leave it lying around on the floor.But last week he did and I stood on it in my wedges by accident! But I told him that he had to pay for it out of his pocket money for a new one because he left it there. Do you think this is ok? I do xxx

Ultimately its your decision, you are the parent and I would never give my opinion if I wasn’t asked 😀 

As infuriating as it is to have your voice sound more like a white noise, you were the one that broke it. I would go for a 50-50, since it was for different reasons, both contributed to the loss.
