Teenagers and facemasks during lockdown NSW

Today 25th August I was waiting to catch a bus to go for a doctors appointment.

a young girl arrived also to the bus stop.  We are in lockdown and she was obviously going to meet friends.  She would have been 15/16.

She seemed to have a bad cold, was coughing and sniffing constantly.

I’m an allergic asthmatic and realise that she could just have allergies.

I was wearing a mask.

what is the protocol for teenagers on the street?  Do they need to wear masks?

Hi @Jasmine12, thanks for the question. It seems like that might have been a worrying experience. We are an Australian wide service, so it is best to consult the NSW government website to get the most up to date and accurate information. As you mentioned, they may have also had some kind of exemption.
