Oh @lizard0812 That's so tough for you.
But well done on making the hard decision for your son. It's a worthwhile one.

@Beingme2017, I'm definitely guilty of catastrophising too. I waste too much energy on it which is draining! I like you're coping technique.

It's not you @lizard0812 It's the platform. Quick reply is no different to a normal reply, it just can't be formatted.

yes I am the queen of rumination - not a title I enjoy.
Its so hard not to - these are our kids we are talking about so its very hard to approach it with the same calmer approach we would when helping friends cope.
Actually that's another technique I have started trying to use. If my friend was coming to me with my situation and fears and worries what would I say to them, how would I encourage them to process it

beingme2017 I'm also a big queen of rumination. Its so hard I not to be I never want to go back to places we have been before

Hey @lizard0812, sometimes we need to be prepared for worse case scenarios, if that's what we're experiencing with our teens. I think it's part of my personality, but also come about from living some worse case scenarios.
I love the forum as a place to share those fears and concerns and with feedback we are then able to work out if our worries or fears about our kids are justified or purely our minds freaking out. I hope that makes sense!!

Awesome technique @Beingme2017, I love it. It really helps to try and separate the emotion hey.
