Dating a single dad with a possessive teen daughter

I’ve been dating a single dad of two teens for a year now. We often plan family hangouts to help my child and his connect. On most hangouts she will find a way to be the centre of attention or hog her dads attention during games or dinner. I’ve quietly observed this and leave a little frustrated about his inability to see this or the imbalance of attention. Not sure how to address this with my partner. I am weary of what blending would look like with this dynamic.
