Parental alienation

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of parental alienation, and most importantly, what helped/didn’t help to get your children back? … and also, how long did it last?

Hi @S-A-W ,

Welcome to the forums! I am sorry to hear you are dealing with parental alienation. The separation from your children must be so difficult. I wonder how long you have been coping with this and what you have tried so far?

Co-parenting is challenging to master but there are services out there to help. A great place to start is calling the Parentline in your state or contacting Relationship’s Australia. These services can help you understand both parent's rights and responsibilities, offer counselling and can potentially help with services such as mediation or drafting a parenting plan.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Re: Parental alienation

Hi,

I realise you posted this message quite some time ago (last year), but I have just logged on after becoming a new member and doing a search under this topic and you came up. I felt I should message you but depending on your current situation, you may feel it is no longer necessary to reply back, and if so, that’s okay Smiley Happy
I have not seen my child in over 9 months. I missed her 13th birthday, and Mother's Day, and what I soon believe, Christmas. I am only starting to understand about parental alienation, but from what I have so far experienced myself, I feel for what you are going through, and I want you to know that as difficult a topic this may seem, you are definitely not alone in what you are going through. Stay strong, believe in yourself and your parenting, and know you are not in this alone. I wish you all the best and I am here for you if you ever want or need to talk with someone who can and does understand. All the best 💜

Re: Parental alienation

Hey @missymoo13, I just wanted to jump on here to say thank you for posting such a supportive and empathetic reply to S-A-W.

I can only imagine how hard it is not being able to see your child for such a long time and missing out on these important dates. I can see you have shared a bit more on the circumstances around this on your other thread and it sounds like such a stressful and upsetting situation. I wanted to check in on how you have been going with everything? Have you been able to reach out to any supports during this time?

Looking forward to hearing from you
