I concerned about my kids security om the net

Hello parents. I've never faced this prblem before (or did not even think this might come) but I started questioning myself if it's safe to leave my kids surfing the net alone? Today I was reading some article and noticed that some porn ad came out on the corner of my screen. I thought that the same could happen to my kid so I started looking for a solution. I found this company with a friendly name. I downloaded it into my windows but I have mac as well and this one is only available for windows. I need to protect that one as well, so could you suggest to me something similar? Thank you all in advance.

Without going into programs, you can set all your internet browser setting to strict or safe in the tools/settings tab.
