Keeping kids in car seat

Hi,

I am hoping other parents might have some advice. My 3 year old is constantly loosening his straps in his car seat. He is able to reach down and press the release button to loosen the straps and then sits with his arms out of the straps. Have tried the clasps that can be attached to the straps but once he has pressed the release button to loosen the tension of the straps, these do not prevent him from getting his arms out. Tried talking to him and explaining the dangers. is there anything out there in the market to help?

Hey @mummyof3boys,

I have found some articles that may help you on this topic. Some articles talk about  a car seat clip that may be purchased. There are other helpful suggestions as well, hopefully they are useful to you.

You can buy toys for your baby to play in the car. My daughter also loves to go on trips, she doesn't like to sit still and I have been learning about toys that can make her sit still. Melissa & Doug Tape Activity Book is my toy of choice, it can make her sit quietly all the way, I'm very pleased with that.

Child Car Safety tips are very important. A few things to note here.

  1. Always put your infant in a rear-facing car seat from birth until he is at least 1 year old and weighs at least 20 pounds.
  2. Keep small babies who reach age 1 but weigh less than 20 pounds in a rear-facing child safety seat until they reach at least 20 pounds.
  3. Larger babies whose weight or height exceeds the limits of the child safety seat before they reach age 1 should use a convertible seat with a higher rear-facing weight and height limit. Keep the seat facing the rear until your child reaches at least 1 year of age.

Yes really car seat is important for kids and also you should cover up seat by using infant car seat cover. There are many reasons of using infant car seat cover like when the crumb falling all over in the seat. Using an infant car seat cover helps in this case.
