Is there any facility on this forum for making friends or chatting with other parents? I have noticed that when ppl post something mostly there are only 1-2 replies & then it says 'solved' is that correct? It would be helpful to have a space for parents to chat

Hi ConfusedMum2007 I just wanted to show my support, parenting a teen is hard for sure, and causes a lot of anxiety. As your son is 17 he's nearly legally an adult. If it were me, I would probably give him a choice, but that of course is your decision, I do not want to tell you what to do. May it become easier for you in the future

Hi Mrs Boss14 I totally understand your feelings, I'm going through a lot of stuff with my daughter as well right now - she's 14 and addicted to her phone which I have observed to be the case with many teenagers. I have strict rules in my house too, & also not a lot of friends or family either (I was in a DV situation also + am ND) so it is really difficult. I hope you can get the support you need, I've just recently reached out to some community supports as well, as I need help too. Anyway I just wanted to say you're not alone though.

I'm really struggling.... My teen is NT & I'm ND so it feels like we are from different planets. She says I don't understand her, and she's right but I don't really know what to do about it. Lately (in the past week or so) I have been dreading any interactions with her at all. She says she doesn't want to talk to me, that I'm annoying - so I leave her alone (Except to ask her to do things when I have to speak to her) - but then she says I never 'check in' with her.

You're the one that EVERYONE in the house relies on to get EVERYTHING done.... And Your daughter/son(s) takes all their frustrations out on you, But also shares their worries with you...

Hi Chickenfan, I just saw your post, even though its a year ago - I think there needs to be more in person support groups too, I feel pretty isolated as well, so hope you were able to find something All the best Catmaman 🙂

Hi mumsuzof2, I empathise with you, it's really tough doing it on your own, And I guess that's why this forum was created. I just wanted to let you know I get what you're going through, Some days it feels like you're in a war that won't ever end but there is hope. Hi as a single mother of a teenager daughter (and a carer) I am wondering if anyone else feels isolated? Sometimes it seems as if I wont ever get out and have fun again (go to the movies or out for dinner etc) Is there any social support groups out there? Thanks in advance
